Countdown Timer Pro is a Chrome extension that runs locally in the user’s browser to provide countdown and reminder functionality. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.

2) Scope

This policy applies to the Countdown Timer Pro Chrome extension only. There is no associated website, backend, or external API.

3) Data Collection & Processing

• No collection: We do not collect or transmit any personal information, usage analytics, crash logs, device identifiers, content from web pages, or other data.
• Offline operation: The extension operates locally. There is no outbound data transfer to our servers or to third parties.
• No profiling/ads: We do not conduct tracking, profiling, targeted advertising, or data sale/share.

4) Permissions & Justifications

The extension requests a minimal set of Chrome permissions solely to deliver core functionality:

• alarms — Schedules and runs countdown timers and periodic checks in the background so timers continue to work reliably.
• notifications — Shows local notifications when a countdown completes so you receive a time-up alert even if the popup is closed.

No host_permissions are requested. No content_scripts are injected. We do not access browsing history, tabs content, bookmarks, clipboard, downloads, cookies, or any sensitive permissions beyond those listed above. We do not use nativeMessaging.

5) Third Parties

• No third-party SDKs or services are integrated.
• No sharing or selling of data to third parties (including for targeted advertising under CCPA/CPRA definitions).

6) Security

• Network traffic: The extension does not transmit user data. If we ever add network functionality in a future version, we will use HTTPS/TLS for all transmissions.
• Data at rest: We do not store personal data on our servers (we operate no servers for this product).

7) Children’s Privacy

The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8) International Transfers

Not applicable. We do not collect or store personal data.

9) Data Retention, Access, and Deletion

• Retention: Not applicable—no data is collected or retained by us.
• Access/Deletion: Because we do not hold any personal data, there is nothing for us to access or delete. If you contact us, we will confirm this and address any questions.

10) User Controls

Users can manage extension permissions (e.g., notifications) via Chrome’s extension and site settings at any time.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect functionality or legal changes. Change notices will be provided in the release notes/changelog of the extension. The “Effective date” will be updated accordingly.
